| | | | Approximately 106 people are added to the national transplant waiting list every day. They need someone to donate an organ, someone like you. Research shows that many people think that donation is a good idea but few have taken the time to tell their families. The most important thing you can do to help promote organ and tissue donation is to tell your next-of-kin your wishes on the subject. If you haven't already, sign a donor card and carry it in your wallet. To make it easy for you, we have included one on our web site. There are several other simple ways that you promote donation, from handing out brochures at a health fair to considering becoming a living donor. You can help by: - Downloading, printing and signing a donor card
- Inviting a speaker to your school, church or civic group
- Indicating your wishes to become a donor on your driver's license
- Signing up businesses for the Workplace Partnership
- Getting your own company involved
- Volunteering to promote donation at local events
- Forwarding a flash presentation via e-mail
- Making a financial contribution for use in public education
