Throughout the year LifeShare participates in a number of programs designed to highlight donor awareness and to increase the number of people who sign-up on the North Carolina Organ Donor Registry. A list of several of them are below. Check out the Resources section for a list of upcoming events. Other special projects will be promoted on the web site and on the LifeShare Of The Carolinas Facebook page as they develop.
Literally Drive Donation
By purchasing a Donate Life NC license plate, you can promote organ and tissue donation as you drive around town. The specialty license plate is available through your local DMV license plate office. Plates will be in initial production in March 2013, so if you have any difficulty ordering online, please contact Donate Life NC at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Did you know that men are less likely than women to sign-up as organ donors? It’s true! When asked if they want to be a donor, 56% of the state’s women say yes, compared to 50% of men. Thanks to a grant from the NC License to Give Trust Fund Commission, LifeShare is working to close the gender gap with several special programs. Visit www.man-upforlife.org for more information.
