Share Your Loved One's Legacy

LifeShare offers many ways to honor your loved one’s heroic decision to be an organ, eye, or tissue donor. Below you will find details about these tribute options.

WALL OF HOPE

Inside the LifeShare Carolinas lobby is our Wall of Hope. The video screen at the center features a rotating slideshow of tributes to our donors.

To have your loved one featured on the wall, email Family@LifeShareCarolinas.org.

HERO OF THE WEEK

This campaign was created to honor our donors and share their stories through the LifeShare social media sites. We hope these tributes inspire others to give the gift of life.

To participate in our Hero of the Week feature, we will ask you to:

  • Answer a few questions about your loved one
  • Send us a picture
  • Sign a release form

After you complete the steps above, we will contact you with the date your loved one’s story will be shared.

Click the button below to request your loved one be included in our Hero of the Week series. Our Bridge to Healing team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

BRICK DEDICATIONS

Eli’s Garden at Our Children’s Memorial Walkway

This beautiful space was created to remember children whose lives were lost. The LifeShare Carolinas section, called Eli’s Garden, honors children who gave the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Our spring Garden of Life brick dedication event celebrates and remembers these young donors. Dedications may also be shared on our social media sites.

To participate in the Eli’s Garden brick dedications, we will ask you to:

  • Answer a few questions about your loved one
  • Select the words you want on your child’s brick
  • Send us a picture of your child
  • Sign a release form

Eli’s Garden brick dedications are only for children age 18 and under. Click the button to the left to request a brick in honor of your child. Our Bridge to Healing team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

The 2023 bricks have been delayed due to events out of our control. LifeShare Carolinas does not own or operate the garden. We are working with the organization that manages the garden. LifeShare will contact the families who ordered bricks this year as soon as we have an update.

QUILT OF LIFE

For many years, LifeShare Carolinas offered our families the chance to create a quilt square to remember their loved ones. The squares were put together by a local quilter and are displayed in the LifeShare office.

GIVE TO LIFESHARE

You can honor your loved one’s decision to give life by giving back. Memorial contributions in honor of your loved one allow us to fulfill our mission of giving hope, life, and healing. Funds support our Bridge to Healing program and community outreach.

Some families ask for memorial gifts instead of flowers in the obituary. Others ask others to give back to remember their loved one on their birthday or the date of donation.

You can give back to LifeShare online. You can also mail a check made out to LifeShare Carolinas to our office at PO Box 32861, Charlotte, NC 28232.
